Under the Fourvière Basilica, the neo-antique façade of the Lyon law court can be admired from the over side of the Saône river. This building was erected between 1835 and 1847, and was completely designed by the famous architect Louis-Pierre Baltard.

Because of its facade, the Lyon law court is sometimes called the "24 columns".
